Missing Sim Tray

I am considering "test driving" a 928 (I am on VZW).

Since I am out of upgrade I am looking on eBay but a lot of these that I see are missing the SIM tray? Now I understand it is standard practice to not resell a phone with the SIM in it but what gives with the SIM tray?

Where could I find one on the cheap?

I have only seen 1 SIM tray on eBay, no luck anywhere else.

I suggest to ask the seller. That is strange to sell a phone without the sim tray.

I don't think you need a SIM tray. That is for GSM phones. Verizon Is cdma

The 928 has a SIM tray though, and pretty much all new Verizon phones use SIM's now.

Many of the ones I saw on eBay ... all without the SIM tray.

Leads me to believe that as they pull the SIM to sell on eBay it is of poor design and breaks?

No SIM - no Verizon service.

There's a belief that the "original" sim try might be causing an issue with the headphone port causing the headphone port to malfunction. Maybe that's why they are selling without? It is strange though, what do they expect you to do without the tray?

The 928 has the IMEI and serial numbers printed on the inside of the SIM tray. My gut says if it's missing, there's a chance someone's trying to sell a stolen phone so I would be wary of buying one without it.

Gazelle is selling ones without ... I would think they are pretty reputable.
