Missing the red X at top right corner

I used to have the good old red X at top right corner which I would click at with a mouse to get out of an app or webpage. Just like the full Windows OS version
I lose it today.
I did a refresh ( no apparent reason other than to see how it works ), and after that I lost the red X .
I thought it was because I needed to install firmware and updates, but after 72 updates installed, I still lost the red X.
Anyone knows how to get it back.
I really prefer to click at the red X than to swipe the window towards the bottom of the screen.
Thank you.

Check your updates again. Some won't appear unless preceding ones have been installed first. If I remember correctly, that sliding down top bar containing the X you're referring to was added with the Windows 8.1 update. And I don't think there was any way to disable it. Which leads me to believe that you're missing the Windows 8.1 update.
