Hello,

I have just updated my PC to Win 10 via automatic update.

Everything has installed correctly expect the software is putting a black border around my display.

When I go into display settings/advanced it shows as 1920 x 1080. It's very curious as it showed correctly on this monitor with Win 7 before upgrading to Win 10. Now black border show.

How can I get around this?

I had the same experience. I have NVidia GeForce GT 630 PCI Express video card.
Before starting the upgrade to W10, I downloaded and installed the latest Windows 7 driver from NVidia.
After installing the upgrade to W10, I had black borders around my display.
W10 Device Manager showed a yellow triangle on the Display Adapter. Initially it didn't, but later it did.
I think yellow triangle shows up after I did my first Windows Update.
So, I downloaded and installed the latest Windows 10 driver from NVidia and that fixed it.
The borders are fine now.

I did need to make one setting change, as explained below.
In NVidia Control Panel > Change Resolution. I changed "Output Dynamic Range" to Full from Limited.
The default setting is Limited. Limited is for a TV, and Full is for a Monitor. My monitor is a Dell U2414H.

Hope this helps,
Lilla

I am getting this as well. I have an AMD R9 270 card and an AOC monitor.
The only way I can get rid of the border is to lower the resolution to 1660 x something or other, which suits me anyway because now I don't have to make text etc larger lol

Edit: Installed the release version of 10, no more border. Didn't have to do anything. I didn't bother to install the drivers from asus or AMD though. Perhaps it was that lol
