More Everything Plan + BYOD

Quick question...checking out some of the pricing for Verizon - if my GF and I shared 6GB of data we get an "Edge discount" where the Monthly Access fee is only $15 (instead of $40). Does this discount also apply if you bring your own device and sign up for a more everything plan? I have seen conflicting stuff where some have said yes, others yes, but only a $10 discount (instead of $25 you get with Edge).

Contemplating just buying an Icon used off ebay and doing BYOD.
