Most solid WP device?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a good, solid Windows Phone for my vacation to France this year. Now we all know Nokia is acknowledged for the solid phones they make, which should make the choice easy.

Nevertheless, my question is: Nokia or not, what Windows Phone can fall without breaking (too easily)?

Well, if you get in a bind, and have to hammer a nail in, you could always use the Nokia.

If you're buying new, go with the Nokia. If you don't mind an older model go with an LG Quantum or a Dell Venue Pro. They're both hefty, solidly built phones and the Dell adds Gorilla Glass to that nice AMOLED display.

My Lumia 800 has fallen 3 times without a scratch so I'd say Nokia but maybe it is just because I have been lucky... And it is not a 900 so I don't know if the comparison is valid

If any phone hits a corner just right, its going to fail. A device is only as good as its weakest link. In this case, its the edges of the Gorilla glass, which is has a higher likelihood of breaking. So, the moral is just hold on to your phone.

Any phone that gets dropped has a pretty good chance of breaking.

I'd say if you are buying any phone and are justified in your concern about dropping it, getting the cheapest one you can lay your hands on would be the best option.

What would you rather drop? A phone that cost < $100 or one that's worth > $400?

Spending more on a phone isn't really going to make it any less likely to break when dropped, it's just going to make it hurt more.

The original Titan has a nice aluminum unibody. The Lumia 800 has a thick polycarbonate shell. (The Lumia 900 is nice too; but, the shell is thinner.)

I'm surprised at people recommending the Focus S.

Focus S or Lumia 800. The Lumia 800 is tougher than the Focus S it just depends on if you need the bigger screen. For a bigger screen device the Focus F can take a beating. Just don't drop it on a corner

Since the Focus S has pretty much the same body as the galaxy S2, this video might help. Ignore the iPhone part (we all know it doesn't do a good job with dropping).

I'm vouching for my Titan. Dropped 2m onto tiled floor numerous times and it has no scratches, only a tiny impact mark on the top left corner where it landed (almost negligible). It's a like it's wearing armour.

Can't go wrong with any WP,just get a case. It's the best way to protect a phone,plus you keep all the reception too.
