on my phone, i have 2 motion settings. motion data and lumia motion data. motion data lets you set permissions for apps to access motion data. lumia motion data is what you want to make sure is set (to detailed)

I can not get it to work on my 930 either.

As i know, there are some issue with old Lumia on Windows 10 preview with sensor core

I have the Lumia 950 and it is counting my steps but only if I travel a decent distance. If the GPS location doesn't change, for example walking around my small condo, it doesn't register any steps. But when I went hiking on a trail, with mile markers, it counted my steps and got the distance traveled correctly.

The MS health app sometimes will refuse to sync with phone(motion data) alone, if you don't have a band 1/2 paired with the phone. Had that issue with Lumia 830 and 635 too, until have got band to pair with the phone.

My motion data still does not work with my Icon with the latest build. Microsoft Health and Fitbit does not recognize the sensor. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the apps.
