MS account on iPhone

I recently had to switch from WM 10 phone to iPhone. I was able to sign into Outlook on iOS with e-mail accounts but not my master MS account (which is a non-MS e-mail address used to create a MS account). Anyone know how to sign in that type of account? I need it to sync over most of my Contacts.

Interesting. Ask for help in-app.

Some other options:

Perhaps you can also sign in at Outlook.com and add an outlook alias then use that to sign in to access contacts.

Or use the iOS native email where you can select Exchange or Outlook account but then type the email.

OK thanks - when asking for help I found the FAQs. When using a non-MS account, you have to create an outlook.com alias and use that. I got it working now.
