MS Band defects

Quick background - I purchased my MS Band back in November just a few weeks after it launched. I wear it daily including when I workout (2-3 times per week). I make sure that I am cautious with my Band and always clean it offer after workouts and avoid wearing it in situations that might cause damage to it.

After a few months of use, I noticed that the material on the inside of the band (covering the batteries) was starting to separate from the Band. Over time, it got much worse to the point that I exchanged it. My local MS Store was easy to work with and admitted that they saw this a few times.

Just a few more months later, I find myself in the same position. The material is separating once again on the areas that cover the batteries. In addition, I find that the battery charger does not always connect and I have to clean the area to get it to connect. I believe both of these issues are caused by sweat. Which is a problem because this is a fitness band and should be able to withstand basic use.

Has anyone else had these issues?

It is still under warranty so I can exchange it again but I know it will likely be my last exchange before it is no longer under warranty.

Anyone know how to convince MS to let me exchange it for the MS Band 2 when it is released later this year?
 
I also have ban with warranty expiring at end of October. I'm hoping if it should happen to break in October that they are out of stock of MS 1 and that they give me a 2 instead, or that they offer a good rebate if I buy the 2.

The information so far says that while it will be announced Oct 6, it won't be available for sale until "early November".
 
I had to get my first band replaced just within a month of purchase due to charging issues. Charger won't connect properly and would work after trying 4-5 times. Replacement new band which I got around 20 days back, have started giving me charging problem again. Everything else works really good and I really love it. But looks like I will have to return it and take the money back just because of charging issue. :-(
