MS removed some countries from offline maps

Hi

after installing latest update for offline maps i lost my downloaded maps for iran, all my friends have this issue, even i heard japon and china are removed from offline maps and not available for DL anymore, whats happened ? its a political decision or is a bug ?

Maybe it is like Korea where I think it is forbidden. Here Maps' Japan offline maps were awfully terrible, like a bad joke. They only had the names of the main cities and that's it. No streets, no landmarks, nothing. So we didn't really lose anything there, at least Japan's current online maps are real maps and they work.

So, China has been removed? Or it is NO LONGER available for download?

Just tried and Iran is there and I can download it. China and Japan don't appear in the download list (can browse them online).

I had Downloaded Guangdong, and Shanghai, a while back and they seem to still work via the Maps App (I hope it is pulling from downloaded maps, and not the internet.

Update: just turned off: WiFi; BT; and,Cell Data; and tried again...NO MAPS! the Offline Maps no longer shows them as installed.

I thought having maps available like that runs aground of some regulatory stuff in Japan.
