I created a new suggestion thread on MS uservoice forum suggesting that they keep the Nokia brand name even after the acquisition. NOKIA name should not just be limited to ASHA series.

Please visit the thread and vote if you agree with the idea. I know its a pretty big deal for a lot of people. So let the world see how much you care.Follow the link to place your vote and comment.

Keep the Nokia branding for all future Smartphones - Not just for Asha

Nope. its not about the emotions. it just makes business sense not to kill a brand name that has more positive image.

Nokia and BlackBerry are dead, nobody wants a phone with those brands. People is open to new things, not to old dinosaurs.

Tell that to the millions buying Nokia--and you can add my name! It's sounding like some people are scared to death with MS getting in the game! How would you explain Gooogle frustrating MS from getting official You-Tube app for Window Phone?

what's the point? we love Windows Phone, so, what's branding printed on the phone will not be a problem

it's just that Nokia has such a strong brand among normal people/non-WP users, that it often is what brings some to try it.

the Microsoft/Windows name on the other hand, is a bit not-so-great.

Its simply an emotional thing man,
What if they keep the Nokia branding but hire carppy employees that doom its future?

And what if they change the branding but hire some top guns that turn the fate of a falling king?

I mean, seriously, don't be emotionally attached to the brand, being emotionally attached to the product is okay.
