looks messy. When the keyboard pops up to type, half the screen is gone already, not sure how that would work in this concept

This feature is for devices with big screen ( Like Samsung GALAXY Note ) + You can resize the 2 apps in this feature ...

but if you click to type into the app in the bottom box, the keyboard would pop up and cover the entire bottom half of the screen. This is true regardless of the size of the screen. I guess in that scenario the screens could swap so that the bottom app displays in the top location so you can see where you are typing.

Interesting, feels like snapped view on windows 8.

You ought to build a sample app which implements this and see if it feels like what you're hoping. I'd be willing to give you feedback on it.
