Multiple contacts and cannot delete them

That's what Factory Reset is for in settings. It wipes everything personal off your phone, numbers, accounts, photos etc, basically resetting it as a new device. (Always do this before getting rid of any phone)

What phone have you got? I still can't figure out why it adds a letter at the end. Unless you have one with dual sim card support so it allows you to tell which numbers are linked to which sim card.

Seems like it doesn`t add letters anymore after i deleted the duplicated contacts..i added a contact and it doesnt show a /H or /M anymore. I have a Lumia 925 btw
