Music keeps pausing for no reason...?!?!?!

Ok, so I've only noticed this happening since last week or so. I will be listening to music on my phone, with headphones, and for no reason the song will simply pause. My headphones are plugged in securely, and it happens both when my phone is locked and unlocked so it's not that I keep accidentally pressing something. But it will happen for seemingly no reason at all and has occurred multiple times during one song sometimes. It makes no sense at all. Does anyone have any idea what this is or how I can fix it?

I had same problem with my 925...it wasn't software issue for me...i tried everything soft reset, hard reset...then went to Nokia care..they tested my phone and told me that the headphone jack having some problem and they replaced it..ao maybe your jack is also having the same issue!!

Have you changed headphones?

Yesterday I had to use my phone for music at work as I had forgotten to charge my Walkman, it wasn't a good experience, I would play an album and after X amount of tracks it would stop, and this kept on happening all day, I gave up in the end and went music less.

I should explain some details.

I ride a motorbike all day, I use a product called Scala solo which is a Bluetooth headset for use inside crash helmets, the Bluetooth part is linked to my work phone, I normally plug a Sony Walkman into the jack input and if a call comes in it cuts the music, when the call is ended the music comes back on, I have no problems with pausing/stopping at all.

My phone is a 1520 and it works fine with normal headphones, will work all day and I have no problems.

But there is obviously something going on inside the headset that causes the phone to stop or pause the music on the phone so some kind of compatibility issues in my case.

So can you try a different set of headphones and see if you still have problems?

A workaround seems to be pulling out the headphone jack when the music stops then plugging it back in again, but not ideal ...
I've been using Bluetooth recently instead of a headphone/aux cable, but I'll try a cable again next time and see if the problem still exists for me. I have a feeling it had gone away last time I tried though. (I'm on 8.1.1).
