Music Sync Problems

I had a Nokia Lumia 920 in which I would sync my music via the WP app on my iMac. I sold that phone and recently got the Nokia Lumia 1520. However, now when syncing music it is really, ultra slow and takes hours on end just to sync even 700 songs to whereas on my 920 it wouldn't take as long. Is there a fix or work around for this? I am syncing from my iTunes list. I tried saving it onto my SD card, but that was the slowest process then switched back to saving music to my phone directly and that's still slow.
