my nokia windows phone is very hot and overheating how do I stop this problem

My phone seems to very very hot while I use it. I was wondering how do I know if I have things running in the background to make this phone so hot. Can you help me?

Check if there's an update available for ur phone.. Over heating often ends after updating phone... If not try hard reset...
