My Opinion on OEM standards for Windows 10

Basically a Z3 compact's WP variant then :)

Yup. You goy it right. I just don't get it what's the craze with bigger screens. You hardly seem to get good hardware these days in below 5 inch phones. And I don't really need 1080p as many movies I have are 720p only, besides i don't see a point in 1080p on such a small screen. I would love the increased performance in games due to less pixels to push and the extra battery life is always a bonus.

I'm going to agree with Cortana but the others, just no.

Those minimum specs you're asking for are just too much. Majority of the top sellers are budget laptops, tablets and phones. Flagships get more buzz because they introduce innovations. That's where these phone manufacturers brag about what they did, how their effort went and what might be the next big feature but these flagships excluding the Galaxy Series and the iPhones do not sell as much as the 100-300 dollar phones. Same with laptops and tablets, the biggest sellers are always on the low-end and this is the reason why Android is dominating in the mobile world.

Not a lot of people can afford flagship devices. Like myself for example, I couldn't afford a Surface Pro 3. It's just too expensive. While I want these features on a 300-500 dollar laptop, I don't think this is possible at all at the moment. QHD screens are in and FHD is now the second best but these screens are still expensive. Wacom Digitizers are really expensive as well.

All of these comes to perspective, when you light up a FHD monitor/screen, a better processor should be present as well, a bigger battery is also highly recommended. This is the reason why the LG G3 is being criticized. Yes, it has the QHD screen but the processor lacks power which bottlenecks the performance and gives the phone mediocre battery life even with a large capacity battery. It's still a fantastic device imo.

You simply shouldn't put a FHD Screen or monitor with a SD 200 or an Intel Atom inside. The complaints will be off the roof and tarnish MS' reputation even more. The normal person wouldn't really care about these screen resolutions. Majority of them would just see if it's bright enough for them and they're good to go.

If you want all of these, save some money and get a flagship device. If you can't just settle for something less. I'm pretty sure they will run decently for everything you need, especially Windows Phones. I personally want the Surface Pro 3 but I can't afford it but I do not expect flagship specs on a middle-range device.

This could be a great suggestion 3 years from now but today, this is still questionable at the most part.

That's the whole point of making this post, and that is to raise the standards for windows 10 phones. Hence, new standards! I am getting really tired of these crapola dinky budget phones with low resolutions. That was the whole point of this post. I am not saying make windows 10 phones with 4K, I am saying MS, and other phone companies should make 1080p windows 10 phones (for whatever minimum size screen 1080p screens fit in in mobile smart phones). If I go to a Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile, I am not interested in dinky budget phones, I want to check out whats new. Besides 1080p will soon be incorporated within a few years down the line of there budget phones, that way they can make there phones more power efficient.

I think the problem here is Microsoft (or Nokia) and their carrier exclusivity which I think is dumb as well. The 1520 is exclusive to AT&T, The 930 (Icon) is exclusive to Verizon.

The only solution here is to make these flagships available across the table. This is a problem in my country as well. My carrier didn't carry flagship WP devices because they're exclusive on another carrier. What I did was (this was back in early 2013) I got the iPhone 5, sold it then got the 920. So much work but hey I got my 920! But I don't know if carriers in the US allow you to sell your phones while under contract.. Carriers in RP literally do not care as long as you pay your bills.
