My phone has become very unstable since the last update. Is it my phone?

I'm on the Release Preview ring of Windows 10 Mobile, which I thought would be the most stable. But ever since build 10.0.15184.36016 my phone (Lumia 640) freezes at least once a day, most of the time more often. I have to do a hard boot to get it back up again. After every reboot it insists that I've got to scan the microSD card. So I do that, but it often doesn't see the microSD card. So that means another reboot so that I can get access to the microSD card.

This has gotten very old.

I want to know if the problem is with the build, my phone or possibly my microSD card? I got the phone and microSD card in December 2015.

Did you hard reset your phone before installing this build, per the disclaimer from MS when joining the Insider Program?

^ I second that question. I first upgraded without a hard reset and that almost broke my phone. However, since then, I haven't had any issues with that build. It's been solid.
