My phone is frozen on my lock screen, HTC One M8. What do I do?

It's never done this to me before. I tried Power and Volume up and nothing seems to work. Somebody PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

hi , you should try this key combo for a soft reset :> Volume down+power key ( hold together until phone reboots). It should get you out the hang up and you can investigate the issue later.
