My surface pro 3 running windows 10 randomly freeze on the password entry

After the above freeze, the computer might unfreeze a few days trying at the password entry point for no apparent reason. However, this problem may recur randomly at other times. Why does this problem occur in a supposedly new model with win 10 to boot? I also owned an older Acer laptop running windows 7 premium but recently upgraded to windows 10. I feel apprehensive that this random freeze problem might also be encountered in future. What does Microsoft have to say to help us overcome this problem on a more permanent basis ?
