My volume up button doesn't work. Help?

I've had my Nokia Lumia 521 for about a year now. The volume up button does not work anymore, and the volume down button is starting to go to. Any quick fixes? Sending it in for a fix is a last resort until I know if this problem can be fixed easily.

Ahem.. That's obviously a hardware issue. So you should probably send that thing in for repair.

Before sending it off... Try the shim trick.
