My Working on it has been showing for 19 hours what can I do?

I have windows 7 home on an HP quad core PC

I should like to know if 19 hours is usual as nothing appears to be happening. I have very little data on my PC that all goes on a NAS drive which I have disconnected in the hour as I thought that might have delayed it.

Do I just remain patient for the next 24 hours or cancel it?

If it's truly 19 hours, cancel. If its a few hours, let it run. How fast is your hard drive? Turn off antivirus scanning and other software prior to upgrade.
