Naming Photographs before saving ?

Is it possible to name pictures after taking pictures but before saving with Windows Camera ? As I don't know what picture I'm looking for when the file name is; WP_20160729_19_54_31_Raw__highres

One option is to use the Photo or File/File Explorer app and rename after taking them.

There is nothing in the Camera app to ask for a name before saving as most people want to snap photos really quickly and that would slow things down.

If you have Windows 10, you should be able to install the Feedback Hub app and make the suggestion for it as an option.

WP - shot with the stock Windows Camera App
20160729 - date taken is July 29, 2016
19_54_31 - time taken is 19:54:31 or 7:54 and 31 seconds PM on your system time
Raw - your phone is capable of capturing DNG
highres - this is the high resolution copy so your phone is set to capture 2 copies, the oversampled jpg + a high res jpg or dng. I would need to see the file extension to tell which was captured.

That's how I search in file explorer... By date and time.

I search the thumbnails in Photos App.

If I want to see the thumbnails and the file name I plug into USB and navigate in File Explorer on PC.


Perhaps if you stated a use scenario it might generate more pointed help advice.
