New AT&T prepaid plans...

This would've been a good place to come in with a 520 or 720 to go against that Galaxy Express.

This would probably also explain why Straight Talk and Net10 can no longer sell AT&T prepaid sim cards, since AT&T will offer their own service of it. This is so smart on AT&T's part, and it's good to finally have this option. I was JUST venting about how I hate going with Straight Talk because you have to live in a paranoia state with your data usage. At least now, I can use YouTube or Pandora and not feel scared. PLUS, I will get good coverage AND LTE.

This is the best day ever, I swear lol...

Oddly the rates don't appear cheaper (at least the $60 one) than I pay on contract.

I'm sure this market will get competitive though now - with more people paying monthly it's easy for one company to lower prices and attract customers to them instantly.

For me to bring my 920 to AT&T postpaid, it would cost me over $100 a month (for the same features, such as 2GB data, unlimited texting, and talking), so what plan do you have? Are you grandfathered?

The mobile share (unlimited talk/text + data) with 2 phones sharing 4GB is around $120 + taxes. I do have a corporate FAN discount which brings the price down from the regular price, so I guess for non-FAN people, these new plans would be cheaper.

Wonder if the FAN discount applies to these rates?

Just thought I'd post an FYI (it's a pretty big deal to me)....

AT&T announces new GoPhone prepaid plans, plans start from 21st of June - Capital Technologies

FINALLY, we can have AT&T prepaid service with BYOD. It'll be nice to get LTE (never been able to use it on my 920), and feel safe using my data how I want to, without worrying about Straight Talk going postal on me (randomly, at that)...

Have you considered Net10? Only $45 a month, unlimited talk and text and they actually tell you what the data limit is - 1.5 GB. This plan is a step in the right direction but I'll stick with Net10 for now - I'd rather not pay an extra $15 a month just for LTE.

I'm switching for the peace of mind. When I was on NET10 a month ago, they still cut off my data, even though I hadn't even come close to 1.5 GB limit (this was a month ago, so the limit was clearly defined, unlike Straight Talk). I went back to Straight Talk because they at least never cut my data off (only throttled me), but now that ATT is offering this, I'm switching for the peace of mind knowing that 2GB (or whatever I want) is JUST THAT: no random, hidden throttle/cut off when an MVNO has a bad mood (and ESPECIALLY when I didn't even reach these data limit caps). I've also wanted to use LTE, and when NFC payments comes to ATT, we will get official carrier secure SIM support like postpaid customers (instead of having to worry about how NFC payments would be handled with prepaid carriers regarding secure SIMs).
