The Marketplace Rules have been revised.

Existing threads may remain in place if they do not involve Windows Phones/PCs/tablets.

However, the new rules are that sellers must post their device for sale in the specific site's marketplace that the device belongs to. Therefore, iPhone/Android/Blackberry for sale belongs in iMore/Android Central/CrackBerry, not here.

If a member is trading devices, it is acceptable to list the trades on any applicable sites, so trading iPhone for WP can go on both iMore and here.

This new policy is in effect as of today, as a result of the Team Leader meeting last evening.

The new rule makes total sense. As a side note, why WOULDN'T you post an Android phone for sale where Android users hang out?

Color me confused we even need that rule....

That should have been the policy all along, but CB was pretty much allowing anything for sale on their site. A member listed an iPhone for sale on AC, then got mad and gave a hard time to an AC mod who told member to post it on iMore, not on AC. Member said, "But CB has always allowed it." That is why the rules are changed now, so there is uniformity on all of the sites.

If you see anything odd with Marketplace permissions, please send an email to james@mobilenations.com to fix the permissions.

I deleted a thread last night by a new member whose only post was trying to sell his Nokia. He had no other post history anywhere and just joined to make that post.

It was a bug. For some reason he had permissions to post in Marketplace when he should not have. James changed the member's permissions.
