"New" refurbished phone, now wifi won't work

So my old 1020 developed a vertical green line on the right side of the screen and AT&T sent me a "new" refurbished phone to replace it. Now however, my "new" phone won't access any wifi. I turn on wifi and it just searches and searches, but doesn't find anything. Sometimes, I'm not able to go to my home screen after turning wifi on, and I have to force-restart my phone. Anyone else have this problem?
