Hypothetical question...

If you had £1500-2000 kicking around and were thinking about buying a new Microsoft machine, would you:

Drop it on a new Surface Book 2/Surface Pro/Surface Laptop right now

OR

Wait for Andromeda, knowing this is the awesome device we've wanted for years, BUT it's going to be a first-generation device and could be extremely buggy. Early adopters are rarely happy users.

What would you do?
First Andromeda is the os that will be replacing windows. The 3 devices surface times is work on tabletphone smartphone and smartwatch.
I would just go buy the surface book 2 or surface pro LTE

If the Surface Courier (that's what I'm calling it for now.) is all the WestWorld awesome as I hope it is, then I'll stand pat. I want that device on day 1. It won't stop me from getting another Surface as I'm due to replace my current pro. But I want a Lumia replacement on day 1.

Me too :) although my debate is whether to upgrade from my SP4 and buy a surface book 2. They've just dropped over £300 in price so it's finally something I can afford....but I don't want to spend the cash and 4-6 months from now Andromeda lands and it's like..."damn, I really want that!!"

I'm torn

The answer to your question is very simple because these will be very different devices with diferente users in mind. Buy the surface book 2 if you want a all powerful workstation that can do almost anything but is not very portable to light. Buy Andromeda if you want a not very powerful but extremely versatile, lightweight and pocketable device.

If you could use both types then ya, good luck choosing

WAIT:) I have the original Surface Pro qualifying me as a "early adopter". I completed 4 years of college while working full time. This game changing devices provide PC power in a small package that I still use to this day. My hope is the wait is about over. I suspect these intro devices will take what I have to new level. I will be all in.
