New User, Few Questions

So I've had my Titan about a week and like it more each and every day. I have also found some issues that may or may not have a fix.

First off, like most people I have multiple email accounts. I have a live and hotmail account as primaries with an exchange and gmail account for other uses. The hotmail account is for personal use and the live is for work (mainly messenger within the office). When setting up the phone, I jumped the gun on setting a primary account to the personal email without learning more about the OS. There are basically three annoyances with being setup like this.


1. Every stupid email contact I've saved over the years shows up on my phone now.

2. Apparently you can only sync to skydrive with the primary account?

3. Messenger only works for the primary account?

I understand that I can do a factory reset and change the primary account, but I'm up in the air about this still. I like being able to chat with friends on messenger from my personal account during the day. It would also be nice to be able to utilize messenger with my coworkers when I'm out of the office though. Other than that I would like to be able to utilize skydrive for the work email. Not to mention I can only add the contacts I want to that account and not have so much clutter.

If I do decide to reset and change the primary account, have any of you done this? What needs to be done on the Zune and windowsphone.com side? I just wanna make sure I do it right if I change so the marketplace and Zune works because I'd like to get a Zune pass. I don't care about Xbox Live since I don't use it. I haven't purchased any paid apps yet since I will loose them if I change.

Overall I really love this OS. Pretty much everything else seems straightforward. I had a few other questions that I've forgotten while typing this wall of text but they'll come back to me. I'm just really not pleased about the nonsensical rules about the email accounts and features associated with them or I've overlooked available features.

Hi, I'm afraid I cant answer you specific questions but I would say put a couple of hours aside, do a factory reset, try it out with the other acounts. If its bugging you after a few days its going to keep bugging you for a long time. If it was me I'd set it up with my personal email and just add in the work contacts you really need. And if you work is using exchange you can still copnnect to that with your work account separatly. And remember you can always access skydrive through IE if you need to.

When I entered my phone for the first time. I had like a thousand contacts, most of them are people I long deleted from my messenger so it was very annoying. I deleted the old ones but you can link the contacts so you can have their twiiter/msn/facebook and phone in one space. That should free you up some space.

I don't have two accounts so I can't help you with the latter sorry.

You can delete your contacts that are you not using, or link them to the phone numbers you got from them.

Yes, you can sync your primary account to Skydrive because it's your hotmail account. You can make other accounts too and link them in one live tile.

3. Messenger only works for the primary account?

Well yes, that't the point. But still you can sync with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

You can change your primary account only if it's on .live or .hotmail. You can add yahoo and other friends and chat with them via the Message Thread.
