Hi guys, I'm a complete noob what it comes to programming/coding. I have been wanting to learn to develop apps for the Windows platform for quite some time now. With Windows 10, I thought it would be the perfect time to start learning.

I would love to know where can I start with the basics of C#. I've looked for books, but I have no idea which is suited for a noob like me. Or are there any better ways to get started? I'm really keen, and I hope to get started before my burning passion dies out.

I need some enlightenment :) Thanks in advance!

Microsoft has a resource on learning C# itself, and I find this rather useful: C# Tutorials (C#)

Microsoft has dev resources to help you along, after all.

Thanks for the share, I appreciate it. Is it wise of me to give up on books now? I know there is no shortcut to learning, but I want to be able to pick it up and hopefully get start as soon as possible.

I never read any book on C# and yet I am working with it even in my job. So no, you do not need to read a book. But you need to read something, either websites and tutorials, samples, watch videos ("channel9")...
