Heya, I use to own a Lumia 920 which I had a lot of battery issues with over time (a year) and it would be on 1% after 3 hours or so, so I left the Lumia brand for a BlackBerry z30 and what a mess that was haha, i missed my phone that i only got 3 hours out of and I have recently come back with the new Lumia 640 battery seems fine so far, I always looked at Windows Central and look at the forums and today I thought I would join up and connect with the community.

Welcome back to the fold. Hang onto your hat because Win 10 Mo will be coming in a few months...

Welcome to WindowsCentral! I'm glad you've joined our community.

I hope your new 640 will be a much better experience.

Hopefully, so far I love it battery doesn't seem bad,but the 920 seemed fine at first is it how I'm charging it?

If your phone is not carrier branded 100% yes.

If it is carrier branded, then they have final say on passing the OTA update to you. With the 640 and 640 XL being the last models released before 10 hits, the chances even on carrier branded phones is outstanding.

Welcome to Windows Central! Glad you decided to come back to Windows! Enjoy your new 640, and if you have any questions, we are all here to help.

Welcome to Windows Central. The 640 being the latest device should get the update to Win10Mo later this year. As RumoredNow pointed out even if it is carrier branded, the probability of getting the update is pretty much close to 100%. Good luck.

I'm on sim free will that hurt it in any way?

Nope... That helps. SIM Free is another way of saying Factory Unlocked. Your OTA should come straight from Microsoft.

Welcome back! If you're using the provided charger and not leaving your phone constantly plugged into the charger, then battery should last you years. I personally only charge my phone when it is down to 5% or below. :)

Oh okay, I do tend to leave my phone on charge for ages
