Newbie Tries To Break The Ice....

Hello Folks,

As a newbie to these sets of forums I will simply ask the question that brought me here and give no thought to the how many times it may have occurred in the past. Can someone give me their breakdown of the Nokia Icon compared to the HTC One Win 8 offering. I have ordered the Icon and for my uses it seems to fit the bill but then all of a sudden I see this phone. Does anyone have an opinion?

Hi and welcome to WPCentral.

My concern about HTC is that it might not provide updates. Nokia is now part of Microsoft, so there is more of a chance of getting updates. HTC is not updating the 8S.

Just kidding, but the One W8 is superior specs-wise to the Icon. Not sure about intangibles, though. It hasn't been revealed yet!

Given the camera comparison on phonearena of 1020 to M8 I'd say that the camera would be worse than the 930.

That is a good point. Nokia has worked with Microsoft for sometime and now with the acquisition I would assume the updates would be immediate. Thank you.
