NFC Tag on the touch covers

I know of the magnesium alloy used on Surfaces being a hindrance to having NFC on the tablet. Wonder why Microsoft won't just put them on the touch covers.

Then it would awkwardly require the touch cover to be attached, potentially add to cost and complexity, etc.

I just think it wasn't a priority for them.
