No bold or italic?

Why can't we use bold or italic text? I like to use them when I am quoting an article or another post so that I can give the context of the info I want to talk about while still emphasizing/making it easy to find the exact portion of the quote I am talking about.

How? What the heck am I doing wrong? I've tried using HTML brackets and that isn't working.

Its a little awkward, but use [ B ] example [ / B ] to bold text, but no spaces (had to add spaces so it wouldn't straight up bold the text and hide the tags). And you can use "I" for italic.




Edit: although bored express doesn't show italics

Using HTML would be where you're going wrong. Bulletin boards make use of BBCode, a markup language. Check out some codes here:
