no calls or sms service

i have an AIRTEL sim in my lumia 730. but since yesterday i am unable to receive any call or call someone. i did hard reset but of no help. the network strength is full and i can use my cellular data (2g) . but i am not recieving any calls and when i try to dial someone i get call dropped notification. when i try to check my balance there is a notification from airtel that " something has happened and we could not complete this action" . any thoughts on what is the issue here??

I had this issue on my 620 about a month ago when it started all of a sudden without any real reason(idea Sim).
I managed to fix the issue by switching highest connection speed as only 2g. I believe the issue is caused by constant switching between a weak 3g network and 2g network by the phone automatically.
Which underlines why we so badly need a force 3g signal option...
