No contact avatars during phone calls after master reset

I was having some issues with my phone after installing update to build 15063.297 on my Lumia 950. I tried doing a master reset, which didn't resolve the issues I was experiencing, but ever since the reset, the phone app no longer displays the avatars of my contacts during phone calls (neither incoming nor outgoing).

See the attached screenshots. The avatars appear in both the call history and in the People app, but the place where a photo should appear during a phone call just has a large gray X. It doesn't matter if I've manually added a profile photo for a contact in Outlook or if I allow the phone to automatically select the Facebook profile picture, I cannot see the photo for the current contact during a phone call.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Windows 10 creators update?

Yup. Same problem. Whatever caused it has caused some chaos with the phone breaking other things as well. When you reset did you restore from an earlier backup?

Yes. I did a restore from backup. There were also some minor issues with some of the start screen and theme settings not restoring, but those were easily corrected.

The only thing that the reset actually fixed is that the Facebook app (published by Facebook) no longer crashes every other time I attempt to open it. That had been an ongoing issue since Facebook first published their own Windows 10 app for mobile.

That reminds me. Call history didn't sync after the restore on my Lumia 950, but I was pretty sure when I replaced my brother's damaged 640 and restored a backup for him a few weeks ago that the call history appeared on the new phone.

So I think this issue was "fixed" in one of the recent builds. 15063.447 had this changelog item:

Fixes an issue*where a Windows Phone experiences data loss (email, contact, SMS, etc.) caused by Unistore database corruption

But nothing is fixed on my end with regards to the problem. Do I need to do a factory restore? I'll be pretty upset if that's the case as I have always been on production builds on this phone and never an Insider build. I'm not going to ever be OK with a problem like this and having to do a full reset of my phone without ever having used beta or alpha builds.

On the other hand, maybe this line item isn't related to this problem and Microsoft doesn't think this is a real problem worth solving right away. That would be really awesome, too.

Sorry to be so negative but this is sorta ridiculous at this point.

After yesterday's update, I'm still having this problem. I've posted about it on a few different places, including upvoting a couple of posts on Feedback hub but I haven't seen any sort of response from Microsoft. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
