No Download in Xbox Video?

I noticed there is no option to download a movie in Xbox Video. Am I missing something? For certain movies, I would much rather download the file and see it in full resolution rather than be throttled by my Internet connection during viewing. I remember doing it on my Xbox 360. When did this change?

Yes downloading is available for movies and tv shows. When you pull up a movie and purchase it the option to download should be right in the three quick options tab: pin to start-download-share. Also if you are having the error code or failure to obtain license message pop up, go to www.xbox.com and sign in. Go to entertainment and do the one time transfer thing on the desktop/tablet first and then you'll be able to purchase, stream, and download tv shows and movies directly on your phone. So glad this feature is finally available to us.

Edit: I just tried to download a purchased movie and still got the error message so looks like downloads are only working for the tv shows.

Hey guys, hoping you can help me with this; so I'm struggling to buy or rent content on xbox video......I'm on the xbox.com website and can't find the one time transfer option. I've looked through pretty much all of the drop down menus and gone through the entertainment with special care, I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So... Don't hold out. How do you download movies on Xbox Video on the Xbox One? I don't see any option to do that.

Through Xbox one I don't think you can download rentals, but purchases it seems like automatically download. All of my other devices have the option to download my purchased stuff but Xbox one I remember took about an hour or so to show my collection slowly as they downloaded. Rentals I am not too sure on since I usually redbox rentals to be fiscally responsible. 😊
