no notification on whatsapp

I'm having issues with whatsapp! I'm getting messages but no notification I have to always check it if there a new notification! Anyone else!??! My whatsapp is up to date

1. Uninstall whatsapp.
2. Delete temp files, ie history.
3. Install wtsapp.
4. Add wtsapp icon in setting->lockscreen -> "+" sign box.
done.

Same problem, am not getting any notifications on WhatsApp. When i open the app, all messages starts to appear at the same time. I referred FAQ, didn't find help. Contacted WhatsApp and even they cant find a solution, i think something is wrong with Microsoft push notification system !!!! Please help

I had the same issue on viber before
it got fixed after I deleted the temp files and reinstalled the app

Now Im facing the same issue with Whatsapp, lets see if this solution will work also

Note that putting it in the lockscreen really helps fix this issue

It seems I have been getting this issue after I use "Quiet Hours" on 8.1.. Its annoying. Weird thing is that is has occurred at this time 3 nights in a row. Wth .
Whatsapp only works when I open the app, action center and live tile nothing. Had to delete the app and IE thing as mentioned earlier. Any tips? Am I the only one?

This happened with 8.1 Preview for Developers.

8.1 broke many background things including:

• Whatsapp notifications
• Skype missed call notifications
• IE running music in the background
• Dictaphone apps running in the background
