No VPN shortcut in quick actions?

On my 930 running win10 I had a VPN shortcut in quick actions, but it seems I cannot add it on 950XL. There is no option. Do you guys have it?

It's a "known feature". When your display allows 5 buttons in the action centre, then for the sake of symmetry, you only get 5x3 buttons. On smaller displays, it's 4 buttons, and 4x4 displayed when fully extended. The one which is sacrificed on the 5x3 layout is the VPN button.

Thanks for the answer. The man who made that decision had to be pure genius  And of course, there is no option to customize it. I would much rather sacrifice quiet hours for example. Anyhow, I must now find a way to pin VPN to start.

This can be solved, I learned through another post by going into Settings>Display>Size of Text, apps, etc. - and adjusting the slider so that it reads 400 % or greater. The Lumia 950 XL defaults to 350% which gives you the 5x3 grid, but if you scale it to 400% or more (restart is required), you'll get the 4x4 grid, and the VPN quick action button will show up. Hope this helps!

Thanks, that actually does solve this problem but creates another one: I don't want for the text to be soo big, it's ugly.

And what happens if you switch to 4x4, set VPN on the main row, switch back to 5x3: will VPN remain handy or does it disappear?

Really? I noticed very little, if any difference in text size going from 350% to 400% Attached are a couple of screen shots from my device at 400% I think it looks okay.wp_ss_20160106_0001.jpgwp_ss_20160106_0002.jpg

That I actually haven't tried, so I'm unable to comment. You'll just have to try it and see what happens.

Just long press on the VPN settings icon and "pin to start".
Seems you cant pin a specific connection, only a shortcut to the settings tab.

That's close enough, thanks! I did not know that these type of shortcuts can be pinned.

A toggle would definitely be nice!

Didn't know about pinning shortcuts until I started fiddling yesterday when I saw your post. ;)
