No zune

Anyone have an educated guess to the timeline of Zune being replaced by xbox music and Win8 release? I guess I'm assuming that Zune is gone about the same time that Win8 is released...which both happen before WP8 is released. So wouldn't there need to be a software upgrade to our phones in order for them to sync up with our PCs?...So why not release WP8 at that same time?

Am I missing something?

Not everyone is going to have Windows 8 the day it launches, and not every phone is going to have WP8. In fact, there's a very real possibility that current devices won't even be compatible with WP8. Legacy support will surely continue for some time.
