I am getting ready to purchase a new phone and I was really considering this Nokia Lumina 521 w/windows 8. I was just wondering are there any issues with windows 8 on the phone-ie:crashes, long downloads etc etc. Basically will this phone **** me off where I will have to throw it like my current pos phone. I like the fact it has all the windows features like outlook, word etc, which i may need for my job. I also love playing casino games on my phone (slots fan sorry) so I just need to know what you think.
Thank you,
Martine

I'm not sure if you meant using the phone with a Windows 8 PC or the phone OS. Either way, we have an 8.1 PC and two Windows Phones, one of which is a 521. We've had no problems or glitches in their interactions; they play nice together.

We did have some occasional app hangs on the 521 early on, but it's been working great for quite a while.

We also have an HTC 8X which is a high-end phone, but to be honest I don't see much difference in performance other than display quality. I can do everything with the 521 I can with the 8X.

The 521 is a real bargain, especially if you won't miss a few minor features. For us the two big pros are excellent battery life (but we don't use data on that phone) and WiFi Calling.

the phone will not **** you off, although some do get a defective unit and try to live with its defectiveness assuming its normal when its not.

If you dont want an app, tap and hold it in the app list, then select delete! Super easy.

You can't uninstall built-in things like Office and IE though.

don't know if you got the post the first time, but I said my current phone WAS a P.O.S that I shall not name to stop myself from being embarrassed by the online community. I did indeed get the windows 8-nokia lumina 521 phone and thank you for replying.
