I have the 8.1 DP and it has totally crapped up my camera...beyond crap the thing just no longer will take photos and I even did a system restore. Oh well it's was called a DP.

Actually my camera just stopped working also. Lumia 920 running 8.1 DP and as of yesterday neither Nokia Camera nor the regular camera app are launching. It starts to launch and then reverts to the main screen. In fact the same thing happens in Skype when trying to use the camera so their is clearly an issue with my phones camera. Anyone else experience this?

Ordered a new camera and replaced the one in my phone with absolutely no change. Same symptoms. Launch camera, brief pause then back to front screen.

Had the same problem camera refused to open in 8.1

My camera is working great on my L920. I also have 8.1 and I am using Nokia Camera. I never did factory reset.

Whenever I try to open any app that uses the camera it instantly crashes. 8.1 DP Update 3 Nokia Lumia 822.

Yes, it's actually quite easy if you have the right tools.

Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 (GDR2) will fix this problem. and upcoming win 10 update hopefully aswell
