Nokia Lumia Icon or 930? Which one do you choose? :)

So Icon! And 930!
Both devices are almost the same!
But which one will you choose and why?

I don't think this is a relevant question. The 929 is for Americans, the 930 is for everyone except the Americans. The only differences are the available colours and network compatibility. Regardless of which country you live in, you don't have a choice between them.

Hmm i see but, but I asked 'Nokia Bangladesh' today (i live in Bangladesh) about the Icon, they said "the 928 & 929 will be available soon"...so ya...
On the other hand, i actually asked this question just to see what ppl thinks abt these two phones thats all

Since I live in Canada, I just don't have these choices ><. I'm planning to grab a unlocked Lumia 930 when it will be available mostly for the colour choice and the number. I think 930 is sexier than 929

The only difference between the spec's on the 930 and the Icon/929 is the 930 has the motion sensor. I switched to Verizon so I could get an Icon. The 930 will not be available in the US. I do love the Icon! I previously had the 920.

Icon has a motion sensor as well. The Lumia Icon is a Lumia 930 with a CDMA radio in it. There is no difference between them in the same way the iPhone 5s on Verizon and the iPhone 5s on AT&T are the same. Nokia wasn't ready to launch the "930" globally (or, most likely they were but held off for WP 8.1 while Verizon wanted a new high end Lumia to fend off AT&T), so they called it the 929 then Icon and called it a day.

I'm not familiar enough with cellular basebands to know, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 929/Icon are exactly the same device, with different frequency and radio permissions on the silicon (which would make the most sense for economies of scale for Qualcomm and Microsoft/Nokia).

Simple theory? They didn't. The Goldfinger was endlessly rumoured ever since November 2013 to be the first WP8.1 device (i.e. the actual 930). But Goldfinger was placed on ice due to the technology not being ready for market when the deadline was reached. So as a backup-plan Nokia/Microsoft released the 929 as a global variant to fill the device gap they were faced with.

They didn't really do a good job making the 929 global though, considering the delays we're now seeing.
