yes, downloaded the NYC maps

I am not experiencing any lag.

With that and your brightness issue, I think you should try a hard reset. You will lose some of your data, but it might fix your issues.

NO issues with lag but favorites are not being saved =/. that's a really bad bug to have.

I'll try hard resetting, but how do I save data such as home screen layout?

Not laggy for me. But I do have one time that Nokia drive wouldn't update when I'm moving.

Go to settings, backup. I don't think it will restore the home screen layout though.

There was a very recent update to Nokia Maps. It was laggy before it, but good now. Go to the store find the app and hit update if it's there.

So maps still laggy after hard reset of all data. Basically zooming out and panning is NOT smooth. Any tips?? Everything else perfect.

yeah mine is pretty laggy

It's not nearly as smooth as the standard Windows Phone Maps app. It's a shame Nokia removed access to the standard app.

The new maps are 10x faster than the WP7 mapping which had to download in real time every time. On the new maps, once downloaded there is zero lag on my phone. I can zoom and move as fast as my fingers can swipe.

Why is there variation btw devices? Is it a hardware problem potentially?
