Nokia Software Recovery Tool Query

Hey all, hoping someone may be able to help.

I've heard that Cyan for the 1520 has finally landed in the UK, I'm running the Developer Preview and have been advised to roll back to WP8 in order to get the Cyan update.

So I've downloaded the Software Recovery Tool to do this, but what the software is telling me is this: You can install software version 1028.3562.1402.0002 on your phone

The problem is, according to the phone details highlighted on the left of the screen, that's the software I'm already running.

Twice now I've sat through the process of watching my laptop download the software, then attempt to install it on the phone, then the installation fails (I'm guessing because it's trying to install the same software that's already on the phone.....)

I just wanna roll back to WP8 and grab the official 8.1/Cyan update. Any help greatly appreciated.

Not sure why the Recovery Tool is not installing the ROM. It should do this anyway despite what ROM is on your phone.
Have you tried a hard reset, then trying again?

It's all I can think of...

This is one of the things am avoiding, buying data here in my country is very costly, and I will now download the update and it won't still do the work of downgrading my phone to 8.0, this gives me more reasons to wait for MS to fix the bitlocker issue

In regards to the software version, note that this is the firmware version only which was never updated on your phone because you still have Lumia Black. The Nokia software doesn't specify the OS version. However, if it was working properly, it should downgrade you to WP 8.0 as that is what is included with that firmware. Chances are you should be able to flash Lumia Cyan and 8.1 directly once the software on the recovery tool is updated. Otherwise, you can try a hard reset as someone else suggested and see if it will install and let you upgrade.

Sadly it didn't work.....2 hard resets and several attempts with the software recovery tool and nothing....

Thanks for all the help gents, I'll reinstall the recovery tool and see if that makes any difference. Other than that I guess its a case of sit tight and wait

You need to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

I believe it will run on Win7. . .
