Nokia Software Recovery Tool won't load

Is anyone else having trouble loading the Nokia Software Recovery Tool 1.5.0? I've tried on multiple computers and keep receiving the following error. It's probably on Nokia/Microsoft's end but I'm just curious...

Could not check application update
There was a problem. Please restart Nokia Software Recovery Tool and try again.

I tried downloading and installing the tool again but it fails...

I googled this error and your post was the only result. Considering we're trying this about an hour apart I think the problem is with Nokia/Microsoft's servers. I've tried from a few different internet connections and VPNs without luck.

I just tried to launch NSRT on my PC and received the same error. There must be an issue with Microsoft, I'd try again in a little while.

I tried sending feedback to Nokia, please check out this thread and follow up with them on Twitter if you get the same error.

i need to restore my lumia icon back to 8.0 so I can send it back to Verizon :-/ how can I do this without the Nokia Support Tool. I have tried reaching out to them @nokiacareUS but they are just telling me to try different cables, different phones, different systems. Thoughts??

Well at least its not just me I suppose but ya this error sucks I finally got Cyan last night & it killed my LTE, glance screen & more.

what OS are you guys using? Nokia's call support told me to try on Win 7 instead of win 8.

lol yeah try it on an old OS, that's great support.

I tried running it on 8.1 the only windows OS version I have.

still having same problem. tried everything. reboot computer, modem, changed ip.(got connected but application froze.)

I am also having the exact same problem. I want to restore 8.0 on my Icon because the 8.1 preview has some issues.
