Nokia will not use Lumia in future devices..

I'll believe it when I hear it officially from Nokia. Until then, its all rumor, conjecture and navel gazing.

This ain't happening any time soon. Nokia never really dropped a name after such a short time unless the product fails completely. Not only that, but they will lose brand recognition if they do so.

It is not terrible.. But I think that if they release the 930 TOO SOON they will kill sales of the 920, I know it is going to be replaced eventually anyways.. However, If they release the 930, 950 in another carrier it will work. But it won't be smart to release a 930, 950 in the same exclusive carrier.

Did you mean to skip the 940 series in your example? It appears too that your discontent has switched from the Lumia name to the potential numbering scheme.

I would agree to release the 930 and 940 at the same time would just be silly...and they will not ever do that, because it would be just...silly.

The talk of the 928 puts a spin on it also. Most assumed it would be a 922, because of the 822...but a 928 numbering leads you to believe it is closer to a 930 than a 920. So, release the 928 in April...that will buy you a couple of months of sales, and then pop out the 930 for AT&T in Summer to Fall...close to 8-10 months after the 920, and it would fall all in line.

I read in "The Verge" that the strategy will be the following:

Laser (920 variant) Verizon - Spring of 2013 release, 928
Pureview 41MP to AT&T - Fall of 2013 release, 930
Catwalk (Aluminum) T-mobile - I do not think TMobile will EVER get an elite exclusive since that is not how they do business...but Summer-Fall of 2013 if I am wrong. 925?

Edited above for time frame.

They will not drop the LUMIA name anytime soon. People are just starting to remember that name so it makes no sense to drop it now. For instance, my friends now mention my 920 as "your Lumia"... Not your Nokia as it was in the past. I believe next flagship will be the LUMIA 950. After that LUMIA 980 and after that it might make sense to change the LUMIA brand but it's a process that can take 2 more years.
