I'm interested in buying the following Nokia Car Charger. It has a good price right through the Microsoft Store.

I really want to use a different mount that goes into the side and fits in the car, but doesn't look like it will work with this base. I would like to know what is contained in the base of this charger (anything essential to it's function), and if I can pull it apart and use my custom mount. Main reason for the custom mount is to get it up higher and I don't like things stuck on my dash, etc. I use the Nokia Navigation all the time, and want it in plain sight when driving.
Any info or creative mounting solutions appreciated. Thanks!
