Notifications on Me Tile

Why does it say i have 9 messages when I only have 1 new message or if I get 3 more messages it will say i have 12 but after reading the new messages it goes back to saying i have 9 NEW MSGS WTF???

I am NOT doing a nothing factory reset...

occasionally I have to go to the facebook app instead of solely using the me tile and view at least one message or discussion to get the back tile to reset to 0

Also if you get a message with multiple replies you have to open the message to clear all the replies. If you open the Me tile and look at your notifications then exit without opening them they will change from yellow to gray but if there is more than one reply they can still show on the Me tile. At times its easier to clear all of these using the Twitter or Facebook app.
