Disappointed the 64Gb version isn't available to consumers yet. You pay a premium for buying the 64Gb version via the business site, although you do get a 3G card in there as well. Doubt I'd have much use for that, though.

Not sure about 2013 but 2012 required a minimum of 1 GB.

I think this machine should be able to handle the IDE without issues.

(just no Windows Phone development 64 bit required, think the Venue 8 is shipping with 32 bit to enable some power features?)

I won't be installing VS on mine. I've installed it (2012) on a laptop with 2GB and a better processor and it was unproductive. Took a good 30 seconds switching to a XAML tab, an absolute age to debug after hitting F5, not good. My development system is now 6GB and i5 at work, and it could still be faster (my home system is i7 and 8GB and is a dream to use). Save your hair and leave the development for your laptop.

Someone on HotUKDeals helped find it on the Home to protect Distance Selling rights.

You can actually get the 64GB through the home site: First make sure you're on the dell "for home" site (go to dell.co.uk and click on the "for home" tab > view all in for home) Then search for this e-value number:

sm002tv8p9ukcore <<<<for the venure 8 pro 64GB with no 3G

click the link on the products tab from the search results which opens the configurator for the 64GB in the home site which you can follow through to checkout and still have DSR rights for the exact same ?286.80 as the business site.

Don't forget to add the active stylus for ?28 when configuring it as they charge around ?10 for delivery when you order it after!!

Also its missing Office 2013, might be better to wait for the Home Store to add the 64GB.
