I have JUST got my Surface Pro 3, and was wondering if you could install office 2007 on the Pro 3 - without the aid of a cd rom.
-Note could you please use non techie talk!!!-

If you can get an installer or a CD drive (or copy the CD using a computer which DOES have a CD drive) then it'll work.

Might not be touch optimized ,but it'll work.

If you got access to a cd drive (ie mates computer, etc), you could make an "iso" file from pc (basically a exact copy of cd but in a file format) which you can put onto a usb drive which then can be used on your sp3.

I'd look for an installer online, as long as you have the product licence key you shouldn't need the cd.

You could always dump the contents of the CD onto a USB thumb drive, copy files to the Surface, then run it there. I've had to do that a million times dealing with clients that don't take care of their disks. There is nothing special on the Office CD that makes it not install from the CD AFAIK...

Is your Office 2007 software on a CD or DVD? Can you borrow or buy a USB-DVD drive (like around USD $20)? Should be able to install it from the CD/DVD (USB) drive.
