Office 365 / Onedrive subscription question

Hi

I am considering of signing up for a year's office 365 / One drive account (1 TB storage limit).

what happens after the year ends? I've heard that my data won't be deleted, I will be able to share and download, but not upload unless I renew the subscription.

If I decide not to renew my subscription can I upload files if I free some some storage space?

Pretty sure that if you cancel the subscription you'll not be able to upload any more, even if you free up space by deleting other files. For one, it would make no business sense.
